MCC Automotive Mechanics Technician Training

 

New State-of-the-Art Automotive Technology Equipment

Maui Community College (MCC) Automotive Mechanics Technology (AMT) Department and Rural Development Project (RDP) are happy to announce the arrival of new automotive equipment for students pursuing an Associate Degree or Certificate of Achievement. Also available are specialty Certificate of Competence in Brakes, Heating and Air Conditioning, or Suspension and Steering. The new equipment and supplies will further AMT meeting certification standards and properly train students with the appropriate automotive technology needed in the workplace.

Some of the new state-of-the-art equipment purchased to meet industry standards are:

Additional equipment and supplies were purchased to enhance the educational training of  AMT students by updating or acquiring new instructional tools for the classroom.

Funding for the new automotive equipment and supplies totaling over $178,00 was provided 100% through federal grants from the U.S. Department of Labor, and administered by the Maui  region RDP personnel.

Special thank you to State of Hawai’i Senator Daniel Inouye, who was instrumental in establishing the Hawai’i Rural Development Project on Lana’i in 1997 for the purpose of developing the rural workforce and economy in Hawai’i, and now, has grown to include all major islands.
